(PRESS RELEASE) OSLO, 28-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Statkraft, the largest renewable energy producer in Europe, has finalized the sale of its renewable energy development operations in the Netherlands. Dutch renewable energy supplier Greenchoice has taken over a solar portfolio with a total capacity of 120 MWp and has welcomed Statkraft’s experienced team of specialists into its operations.

She also highlighted the importance of continuity for Statkraft’s employees, who will now find new career opportunities within Greenchoice.

The agreement, structured as a share purchase deal, transfers to Greenchoice not only the operational solar power assets but also a diverse project pipeline of solar, wind, and battery storage initiatives, along with a group of highly skilled professionals. The transaction is expected to be completed in the autumn.

Flesche further expressed confidence in Greenchoice, pointing to its strong alignment with Statkraft’s values of renewable energy and sustainability. She stressed that the transaction will bolster Europe’s overall green transition and contribute positively to future renewable development.

While Statkraft is divesting its project development activities in the Netherlands, the company will maintain its established presence in market operations in the country.
