Spirit Airlines selects Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran) wheels, brakes and MRO services for its fleet of Airbus single aisle aircraft

PARIS, 8-10-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — American ultra low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines, one of the fastest growing airlines in the industry, has chosen Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran) wheels, brakes and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) services for its fleet of Airbus single aisle aircraft.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty will supply wheels and carbon brakes for the 52 Spirit A320s and A319s already in operation, along with 45 A320neo and 35 A320ceo aircraft that Sprit has on order. The agreement includes MRO support services, provided by U.S. subsidiary, MBD Wheel and Brake Repair and Services, through its network of repair shops in North America.

Spirit Airlines also selected Messier-Bugatti-Dowty to provide landing gear MRO services on its A319 and A321 fleet, at the company’s MRO operation in Querétaro, Mexico.
