(PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 3-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Adhesive Technologies business unit of Henkel has bolstered its presence in South Africa with the acquisition of Nordbak (Pty) Ltd, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) solutions. Nordbak’s extensive product portfolio—ranging from abrasion- and acid-resistant linings to epoxy-based crusher backings, metal-repair compounds, and corrosion-protection coatings—serves critical sectors such as mining, petrochemicals, and mineral processing. With manufacturing and service sites in Wadeville, Kathu, and Phalaborwa, Nordbak’s 105-strong workforce and deep local expertise now complement Henkel’s global MRO growth platform.

This move reinforces Henkel’s strategy to expand in fast-growing emerging markets and to meet South Africa’s strong demand for high-performance repair and protection technologies. Under the leadership of Arash Radgoudarzi, Country President for Henkel South Africa, the integration will combine Nordbak’s customer proximity and industrial insight with Henkel’s international sustainability standards and technological capabilities. The combined entity will focus on enhancing asset life, ensuring operational efficiency, and strengthening regional manufacturing and technical expertise.

“This acquisition marks a new era of growth and innovation for both Henkel and Nordbak,” said Arash Radgoudarzi. “By merging our global tech know-how with Nordbak’s local leadership, we will deliver greater value to customers and safeguard South Africa’s critical infrastructure.” Nordbak CEO Mark Beyl added: “Joining the Henkel family unlocks fresh innovation potential, global reach, and an intensified focus on sustainability while maintaining our commitment to excellence.”

The transaction is complete, reflecting Henkel’s long-term dedication to the South African market, local production capacity, and environmental stewardship. Financial terms remain undisclosed.
