The Wilkens Family Foundation in Darmstadt focuses on responsibly managing the family’s wealth for future generations, while the Lammers Foundation in Hamburg is committed to environmental, climate, and nature protection, as well as promoting science and research. Both founders, who hold more than 25 percent of the company each, have set up these foundations to ensure that their shares are preserved and passed on in the event of an estate settlement, thereby safeguarding the long-term stability of Energiekontor AG.

Dr Bodo Wilkens and Günter Lammers, who have played pivotal roles as Supervisory Board members and key anchor shareholders with direct stakes exceeding 25 percent each, have set up separate foundations that began operations at the start of 2025.

The Wilkens Family Foundation, based in Darmstadt, is a private institution focused on the prudent management of the family’s assets to benefit future generations. Meanwhile, the Lammers Foundation in Hamburg is dedicated to charitable activities with an emphasis on environmental, climate, and nature protection as well as the promotion of scientific research.

These new structures are designed to preserve the shareholding arrangements in the long term. In the event of an estate settlement, the founders’ direct shareholdings in Energiekontor will be transferred to their respective foundations, ensuring that their vision for the company continues well into the future.
