(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 5-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Capgemini has announced a five-year extension of its strategic partnership with McDonald’s Corporation, continuing a long-standing collaboration focused on developing modern and scalable technology platforms for both customer and crew experiences. The renewed agreement supports McDonald’s Accelerating the Arches strategy, which focuses on digital transformation, restaurant modernization and the expansion of loyalty-driven growth.

As outlined in McDonald’s 2023 Investor Update, the company aims to reach 250 million active loyalty users within a 90-day period and generate $45 billion in annual systemwide sales from loyalty members by the end of 2027. Achieving these goals will also require expanding cloud-enabled capabilities across thousands of restaurants within the company’s global network.

Capgemini and McDonald’s have collaborated for more than a decade on technology initiatives supporting the restaurant chain’s digital evolution. Over the next five years, the partnership will focus on the next phase of this transformation, with efforts aimed at enabling revenue growth, improving operational efficiency and enhancing the overall restaurant experience. The initiative will involve modernizing restaurant technologies, strengthening digital consumer platforms, accelerating the rollout of new solutions and adopting more cost-efficient operating models powered by artificial intelligence.

Under the renewed agreement, Capgemini will continue providing engineering, deployment and support services for selected digital customer channels and restaurant technology platforms across McDonald’s global operations. These services will help maintain and expand the digital ecosystem that connects guests, restaurant teams and technology infrastructure.

Brian Rice, Global Chief Information Officer of McDonald’s Corporation, emphasized the company’s focus on upgrading restaurant operations and improving both guest and crew experiences. The collaboration with technology partners plays a key role in enabling new capabilities that support restaurant modernization and enhance the overall customer journey.

Capgemini’s work within the partnership combines expertise across multiple disciplines, including strategy, design, innovation and engineering. By bringing together these capabilities, the company aims to accelerate the development of digital platforms that support both employees and customers in McDonald’s restaurants.

Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics will play a central role in this effort. Through its Applied Innovation Exchange, Capgemini will support McDonald’s broader technology ecosystem and its transition toward cloud-based infrastructure. These capabilities are expected to help optimize operations, strengthen digital experiences and support the company’s long-term technology strategy.

Anirban Bose, CEO of the Americas and a member of Capgemini’s Group Executive Board, noted that the extended partnership reflects a shared commitment to shaping the future of restaurant technology. The collaboration will continue focusing on improving digital engagement and in-restaurant experiences for both customers and employees across McDonald’s global network.
