British singer Rita Ora will take to the Bambi stage in Berlin on 12 November 2015

Millennium Bambi goes to Wolfgang Schäuble // Til Schweiger and Dieter Hallervorden recognised for “Honig im Kopf” (“Head Full of Honey”)

MUNICH, 28-10-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — In one of the musical highlights of this year’s live show, British singer Rita Ora will take to the Bambi stage to perform a special version of her latest single, “Body on Me”, in Berlin on 12 November 2015. The 24-year-old has already enjoyed huge success with her début album and has topped the British charts four times. Her collaboration with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea took her into the US Billboard top three for the first time. And this is why Rita Ora will be receiving the Bambi for “Music International”.

An appearance by Wolfgang Schäuble promises to be a high point of this year’s Bambi ceremony. The top politician will receive the “Millennium” Bambi – the highest and most important accolade – for his services to German unification and European policy.

A deeply emotional film, Til Schweiger’s “Honig im Kopf” (“Head Full of Honey”) resonated with more than 7 million cinema goers. It captured the public’s imagination by combining a serious topic with great cinematic entertainment. Dieter Hallervorden shines as Alzheimer’s sufferer Amandus, his moving performance conveying to the audience the distress and challenges this disease entails. He and Til Schweiger, who directed and produced the film, will receive the “Honorary Prize of the Jury”.

Bambi, Germany’s most important media award and one of the biggest events in its social calendar, will take place in Berlin on 12 November 2015. Television channel “Das Erste” will broadcast the show live from the Stage Theater, Potsdamer Platz at 20:15.
