Biotalys and Syngenta partner to develop biocontrol solutions for pest management

(PRESS RELEASE) BASEL/ GHENT, 24-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Syngenta AG, a global agricultural technology company active in the production of agrochemicals and seeds, and Biotalys (Euronext – BTLS) have entered into a partnership to develop and commercialize new biocontrol solutions to manage key pests in a variety of crops. The new solution will be developed based on Biotalys’ AGROBODYTM technology and will offer farmers a new mode of action to counter pest resistance and promote sustainable agriculture.

As per the agreement, Syngenta will collaborate with Biotalys on a research program, leveraging its AGROBODY™ technology platform for Syngenta’s specific insect targets. With growers under pressure due to resistance development, regulations, and environmental issues, there is a growing demand for innovative biological solutions that minimize the impact on the environment and biodiversity. Biotalys has proven the potential of its protein-based biocontrols in delivering novel modes of actions that are effective and safe for use in food and agriculture. The partnership enables Biotalys to expedite the development and global commercialization of innovative crop protection solutions, leveraging the global agriculture business’s extensive network and capabilities.
