AUTO1 Group enhances Autohero operations through new refurbishment hubs in Italy, Austria, and the Netherlands

(IN BRIEF) AUTO1 Group SE is expanding its refurbishment network with three new production centers in Patrica, Italy, Wolkersdorf, Austria, and Dordrecht, the Netherlands. Together, the sites will add capacity for 71,500 cars per year, pushing the company’s total output to 248,400 vehicles annually, a 38 percent increase. Beyond scaling operations, the centers will create around 550 new jobs and strengthen quality assurance for Autohero customers, as nearly all vehicles are now refurbished in-house. Dordrecht has already opened, while Austria and Italy are expected to follow by late 2025. AUTO1 Group emphasizes that the expansion will improve customer experience while contributing to local economies, with no change to financial guidance.

(PRESS RELEASE) BERLIN, 30-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — AUTO1 Group SE, Europe’s leading digital platform for trading and financing used cars, is accelerating the growth of its Autohero retail brand by opening three new production centers in Italy, Austria, and the Netherlands. With these additions, the Group will operate a total of 12 refurbishment facilities across the continent, reinforcing its ability to meet rising customer expectations for top-quality vehicles.

By bringing more of the refurbishment process in-house, AUTO1 Group ensures full control over each stage of preparation. Vehicles pass through rigorous quality checks, mechanical reconditioning, cleaning, and professional photography before reaching Autohero customers. This approach not only secures consistency but also enhances transparency and trust in the used car buying experience.

The new facilities—situated in Patrica, Wolkersdorf, and Dordrecht—cover a combined 184,500 square meters. Once running at full capacity, they will add the ability to refurbish 71,500 vehicles per year. Their contribution will also extend to the wider economy by creating around 550 new jobs, offering positions ranging from skilled mechanics to experienced painters and other technical roles.

The Dordrecht site has already started operations, while the centers in Austria and Italy are scheduled to begin towards the end of 2025. Wolkersdorf will take over from the existing Vienna facility, substantially increasing the Group’s refurbishment capability in Austria. Altogether, AUTO1 Group’s internal production capacity will climb to 248,400 vehicles per year, a 38 percent increase compared with previous levels.

Karol Niznik, Senior Vice President of Production, Logistics & Procurement at AUTO1 Group, explained: “Expanding our European refurbishment footprint means we can consistently deliver cars of the highest quality to our Autohero customers. Just as importantly, we are proud to support local economies by creating hundreds of new automotive jobs across Italy, Austria, and the Netherlands.” He confirmed that the additional production capacity does not impact the Group’s financial guidance.
