Luxembourg, 16-4-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — All European Final of the European Moot Court Competition takes place today (12 April 2013) at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg

The European Law Moot Court Competition is the world’s largest Moot Court in EU Law. Organised for the first time during the 1988-1989 academic year, this competition, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, has as its primary objective to promote practical knowledge of EU law amongst law students.

Law students, who have already made their way through a tough selection of 70 teams since September 2012 when the European Law Moot Court Competition was launched, will today plead before panels composed of Members of the Court of Justice, the General Court and the Civil Service Tribunal of the European Union. The teams who are competing today represent eight universities from different countries. They won their respective Regional Finals which were held in February 2013 in Leiden, Lund, Neuchâtel and Brussels.

Students from all EU member states participated in the competition. Those who participated in the Regional Finals also included students from countries such as Croatia, Turkey, the USA, Canada and China.

The final is the last stage of this competition, which has been held at the Court of Justice since 1991. The winners will receive various prizes, including internships with European Institutions or highly respected law firms specialising in European law.
