20-6-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Fundación IBERDROLA has concluded the 2013 announcement of its Social Aid Programme, which seeks to contribute towards the social development, well-being and quality of life in those regions where IBERDROLA operates.

This year, 46 organisations have been chosen from the 525+ applications received. The recipient projects will each obtain a maximum of 20,000 euros in funding from Fundación Iberdrola, without exceeding 50% of their total budget. The initiatives included in this programme will be carried out in Spain within a maximum execution time of one year.

The projects that will receive the Foundation’s backing are involved in combating poverty and social exclusion, as well as improved quality of life and care for the disabled.

In addition, they target or involve vulnerable groups, such as the long-term unemployed, elderly persons in need, immigrants and the disabled, among others.

The selection process has involved assessing the integration of the volunteers into the activities and good practices in the area of transparency and good governance. The aid awarded this year represents an increase of 18% on the previous edition of this Programme, which has already benefited 200 organisations.  The list of chosen initiatives is now available at the Fundación IBERDROLA website, www.fundacioniberdrola.org.
