(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 26-Sep-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — SUEZ Group, a French multinational company with over 160 years of expertise in water and waste management, is proud to announce its forthcoming move to the innovative Altiplano building in the heart of La Défense, Paris. On July 7th, 2023, in collaboration with staff representatives, Sabrina Soussan, Chairman and CEO of SUEZ, finalized the lease for the company’s new headquarters. This strategic move underscores SUEZ’s unwavering commitment to providing its employees with sustainable, environmentally conscious facilities and an exceptional work environment. The transition of SUEZ’s teams, currently situated in the Tour CB21 skyscraper, is slated for early 2025.

SUEZ’s decision to make Altiplano its new home stems from a dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its employees. Nestled in the vibrant La Défense district of Paris, Altiplano enjoys excellent access to public transportation and actively promotes eco-friendly commuting options. Spanning nine floors, the building offers 6,000 square meters of outdoor space, two indoor patios, and nine loggias, providing SUEZ employees with access to lush, open workspaces.

The architectural design of Altiplano is thoughtfully crafted to foster cross-team collaboration, flexible work practices, and lateral communication among employees. This contemporary workspace will catalyze innovative ways of working and support SUEZ’s vision for the future.

This strategic headquarters choice exemplifies SUEZ’s strong commitment to ecological sustainability within its facilities, aligning with the company’s comprehensive sustainable development roadmap. Rather than resorting to demolition and reconstruction, which would consume additional energy and resources, SUEZ opted for the relocation to an existing structure. To minimize the carbon footprint associated with this transition and instill a circular approach right from the project’s construction phase, AXA IM Alts, the project developer on behalf of its clients, meticulously selected sustainable and responsible materials from nearby supply chains. The emphasis was placed on repurposing materials and furniture from the pre-existing building, resulting in an impressive 85% of demolition waste being recycled.

These design choices, coupled with the preservation of the existing building, will prevent the emission of approximately 10,231 tonnes of carbon dioxide. This reduction equates to the environmental impact of roughly 65,000 car journeys from Paris to Marseille.

Altiplano’s developers are working diligently to secure eight certifications for the building, reflecting some of the highest global standards in environmental sustainability, technical excellence, and well-being. These certifications include Effinergie 40%, BREEAM Excellent level, HQE Exceptional level, Well Health 2021, Biodiversity, Wellv2 Gold level, WiredScore Platinum level, and OsmoZ.

“By choosing the Altiplano development, we’re opting for a future headquarters that is in keeping with SUEZ’s transformation, offering improved performance thanks to enhanced employee well-being, and increased flexibility and collaboration in terms of our working methods, for the benefit of all of our customers. With this building, which is geared towards ecological sufficiency, we’re also aligning our new headquarters with our purpose and the goals set out in our sustainable development roadmap,”  commented, Sabrina Soussan ,Chairman and CEO of SUEZ.
