Dornbirn, Austria, 21-May-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — On the evening of 17 May 2018, the Zumtobel Group opened its new light centre in the IZD Tower on Wagramer Strasse, Vienna. The international lighting company is showcasing its broad portfolio in the field of professional lighting along with the associated services in the new premises, and allowing light to be experienced in its many fields of application. The 250 square metre light centre was built in cooperation with the Norwegian architectural studio Snøhetta.

Shared location for all brands
The Zumtobel Group is already represented in the IZD Tower with its sales office comprising a team of around 70 employees. The location has now been extended by the new showroom in the same building. In 2014, the Zumtobel Group closed its old lighting forum on Jasomirgottstrasse, which at the time was physically separated from sales. The aim was to find a new location that would combine the showroom and sales office and allow all brands of the Group to be present at the same time. With the multi-brand approach at the new location, synergies can be used to the customer’s advantage.

“We are very pleased to be closer to our customers again with our new light centre and to strengthen our presence in Vienna and the surrounding area. We are taking the opportunity to present all our brands and the service competence of the Zumtobel Group under one roof. The design concept and the final rooms are inspiring and invite you to see, feel and experience light,” says Heinrich Sachs, Managing Director Sales Austria, Vienna.

Inviting spatial concept from Snøhetta
The light centre in Vienna is – in addition to Malmö, Sweden – the second showroom designed by the renowned, international Norwegian architectural office. The “Open Space” concept is inspired by Snøhetta’s corporate culture, whose offices are open and inviting and thus facilitate exchange and networking. Following this, open meeting areas in the Vienna light centre encourage team networking and promote synergy between the brands as well as interaction with the customer.

Light experienced in all its dimensions
In the new light centre, the Zumtobel Group presents the expertise of its brands acdc, Thorn, Zumtobel and Zumtobel Group Services (ZGS) in various applications. The exhibition area is divided into different zones. One point of attraction is certainly the light experience space, in which focused product presentations are deliberately avoided and light is shown as a material and as pure matter in a completely brand-neutral way. In this part of the light center, visitors should be able to follow the fascination of light. The exhibition is currently temporarily showcasing the Zumtobel Masterpiece by US star architect Daniel Libeskind. Fans of the editions of the Zumtobel Group’s artistic annual reports will find a selection from the last ten years in the reception area. The Viennese architects Delugan Meissl prepared an exclusive temporary intervention in the exhibition area of Zumtobel for the opening evening.
