(PRESS RELEASE) BEIJING, 7-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — The Volkswagen Group is accelerating its “In China, for China” strategy with its most extensive electric vehicle product campaign to date, set to take center stage at Auto China 2026 in Beijing. Under the theme “Rise Up,” the Group will unveil a lineup of ten models across four brands during its Media Night on April 21, highlighting both new vehicles and the growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping future mobility.

At the core of the presentation are four global premieres spanning multiple brands. The JETTA brand will introduce its first concept vehicle focused on smart electric mobility for the entry-level market, signaling its transition toward electrification. The Volkswagen brand will reveal its second ID. UNYX model, developed in collaboration with XPENG, reinforcing its localized innovation approach. Meanwhile, FAW-Volkswagen will debut the first fully electric model from the ID. AURA series, built on the newly developed China Electronic Architecture (CEA), designed specifically for the Chinese market.

In the premium segment, Audi and its China-specific sister brand AUDI will present a series of high-end models, including the first public reveal of the exterior design of the AUDI E7X1, the second production model under the new AUDI brand, aimed at expanding its appeal to new customer groups.

The Group’s leadership emphasized the rapid progress achieved through its China-focused strategy. CEO Oliver Blume highlighted China’s central role in driving global competitiveness, while Ralf Brandstätter underscored the speed of development, noting that a completely new product portfolio has been created in less than three years. Beginning in 2026, the Group plans to introduce a new vehicle for the Chinese market approximately every two weeks, marking its largest electric mobility expansion in the region.

In total, more than 20 electrified vehicles—including battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and range-extender models—are scheduled for launch in 2026 alone, alongside updated internal combustion engine offerings. This diversified portfolio reflects the Group’s commitment to tailoring products to local consumer preferences.

Beyond the premieres, additional highlights will be showcased throughout the exhibition. Among them, Porsche will introduce a new addition to its all-electric Cayenne lineup, emphasizing performance and design within the SUV category.

Technology remains a central pillar of the Group’s strategy. During the Media Night, Volkswagen Group will present advanced driver-assistance systems and intelligent cockpit solutions designed to enhance user experience. Developed by CARIZON, its China-based center of excellence for autonomous driving, the new Level 2 ADAS systems enable Navigation on Autopilot in both urban and highway environments, as well as automated parking capabilities. Future developments will include proprietary System-on-Chip technology to support higher levels of automated driving, including Level 3 and Level 4 capabilities.

Artificial intelligence is also expected to play a defining role in next-generation vehicles, enabling cars to better understand user preferences and deliver more intuitive, personalized driving experiences. The Group’s vision positions AI not only as a technological enhancement but as a key enabler of more human-centered mobility.

Through its presence at Auto China 2026, the Volkswagen Group is demonstrating both the scale and speed of its transformation in China, reinforcing its ambition to lead in electric mobility, digitalization, and intelligent vehicle technologies.
