Uptevia, a joint venture by CACEIS and BNP Paribas, aims to revolutionize issuer services in France and across Europe

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 10-Jan-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — CACEIS, the asset servicing banking group of Crédit Agricole and Santander, and BNP Paribas (EPA: BNP), European Union’s leading bank, have announced the creation of a new company called Uptevia, a specialist provider of issuer services¹, as of January 1, 2023. The joint venture, which is owned equally by both banks, will combine the issuer services divisions of BNP Paribas and CACEIS and aims to become a leading specialist provider of issuer services in France and eventually across Europe. The draft agreement between BNP Paribas’s Securities Services business and CACEIS, which was announced on March 18, 2022, has now received approvals from the competition and regulatory authorities. The creation of Uptevia reflects the desire of both banks to develop a specialized, expanded and scalable service offering for corporate clients in France. The new company will provide a wide range of services to issuers, including shareholder recordkeeping, organizing and centralizing general meetings, setting up and centralizing financial operations, and managing employee shareholding plans.

This agreement covers the specialised sector of issuer services. It does not affect other BNP Paribas or CACEIS service offerings.
