Telefónica Tech and HORSE Collaborate to Safeguard Valladolid Facility with Aristeo Cybersecurity Solution

(IN BRIEF) HORSE, a mobility solutions company, partners with Telefónica Tech to enhance cybersecurity at its Valladolid plant. Telefónica Tech will deploy Aristeo, a cybersecurity solution, to detect and analyze threats using real hardware. The implementation aims to strengthen HORSE’s defense against cyber-attacks and ensure the security of its digitized processes.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 12-Feb-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Telefónica (BME: TEF, NYSE: TEF), a Spanish multinational telecommunications company, announces that HORSE, a global leader in low-emission engine mobility solutions, has selected Telefónica Tech to bolster cybersecurity measures at its Valladolid plant, a facility with a rich history of producing over 35 million engines in more than 58 years.

Under the agreement, Telefónica Tech will deploy Aristeo, an advanced cybersecurity solution developed at its Cybersecurity Center for Industry 4.0 (C4IN) in León. Aristeo utilizes a network of decoys exposed on the internet, employing real hardware to detect and analyze threats in industrial environments.

The implementation of Aristeo at the HORSE factory will involve configuring multiple decoys tailored to the company’s specific requirements, enabling the extraction of valuable insights to enhance cybersecurity posture.

María Luisa Redondo, CIO of HORSE, emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in the company’s data-driven approach, stating, “HORSE was born with the vocation of being a data-driven company and that is why cyber security is so important to us. Our processes are fully digitised and Aristeo provides us with a better preparation to defend ourselves against possible cyber-attacks. Having the support of a leader like Telefónica Tech gives us peace of mind and allows us to focus on developing our business: offering environmentally friendly mobility solutions that are accessible to the greatest number of people.”

Alberto Sempere, Director of Services, Innovation, and Partnerships at Telefónica Tech, highlighted the significance of Aristeo in enhancing cybersecurity intelligence, stating, “The digitisation and automation of industrial processes generate significant efficiencies in business, but can also, in many cases, provide a fast access route for cybercriminals. Aristeo will provide HORSE with extra predictive intelligence with trend analysis of real attacks to help them assess their protection levels and prevent potential attacks. The knowledge gained from this project will undoubtedly enhance Aristeo’s capabilities in the automotive field and strengthen the quality of its intelligence.”

The project, set to be unveiled on February 28 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), underscores HORSE’s commitment to safeguarding its operations against evolving cyber threats while advancing sustainable mobility solutions.
