(PRESS RELEASE) ESSEN, 11-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — RWE has appointed Sandra Dettmer to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at RWE Renewables Europe & Australia GmbH, effective April 1, 2026. The new leadership role has been introduced to strengthen operational oversight as the company continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio across Europe and Australia.

In her new position, Dettmer will oversee key operational functions including engineering, construction, and operations for RWE’s growing portfolio of onshore wind farms, solar installations, and battery storage facilities. She will also be responsible for health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management across the division’s activities.

The appointment reflects RWE’s effort to place greater management focus on the increasing number of renewable energy projects currently being developed and operated across its European and Australian markets. As the company continues to scale its renewable capacity, the COO role is expected to strengthen coordination across project development, construction, and operational performance.

Dettmer will join CEO Sopna Sury and CFO Simon Bockmühl on the management board of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia. Prior to this appointment, she served as Director of Construction within the same division, where she was responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of renewable energy projects.

Markus Krebber, CEO of RWE AG, highlighted Dettmer’s experience and familiarity with the company’s renewable energy operations. He emphasized that her deep knowledge of RWE’s projects and markets in Europe and Australia positions her well to continue driving the efficient construction and reliable operation of wind, solar, and battery storage assets. These technologies, he noted, form a central pillar of the company’s long-term growth strategy.

The appointment underscores RWE’s commitment to strengthening its management structure as it continues expanding its renewable energy footprint and accelerating the development of sustainable power generation assets.
