Lafarge, Saint-Gobain, Schneider Electric and A_PRIORI team up to develop energy efficient houses in Russia

Moscow, Russian Federation, 10-4-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — Lafarge, the global leader in the production of cement, aggregates and concrete, Saint-Gobain, a world leader in the habitat and construction markets, Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and A_PRIORI Project, a project bureau in Russia, signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation in Russia regarding the development of Energy Efficient Houses.

The LOI covers the companies’ motivation in contributing their unique know-how and materials in the realization of Energy Efficient Houses project. The pilot project, which the partners have started to work on is one of the 1st Energy Efficient Houses in Moscow region with energy consumption lower than 35KWH/m2.yr. The design of the project has been settled and the construction will start on May 2013. The second project to be realized in the framework of the Energy Efficient Houses is the multi-storey house, which is currently in pre-design phase.

Lafarge and Saint-Gobain will assist in providing expertise in house design support and advice, thermal bridge avoidance, energy efficiency calculations and building materials knowledge. Schneider Electric will also provide additional expertise in energy management, including power distribution, energy monitoring, fire alarm system, video surveillance and critical power supply for building management systems, cable management systems, wiring devices and light automation. A_PRIORI project will contribute to the realization of the project by acting as the author of the architectural concept and general designer, as well as cooperating with other partners on coordinating the choice of materials and construction systems. All partners have agreed to make available their respective resource catalogues.
