(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 21-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Crédit Agricole CIB, the corporate and investment banking arm of Credit Agricole Group, the 12th largest banking group worldwide, has announced its latest strategic move in Europe with the opening of a new branch in Copenhagen, Denmark. This expansion will further strengthen the bank’s existing presence in the Nordic region and enable it to better serve the needs of its clients in the Danish market.

With decades of experience in the region, the new local presence will allow the bank to provide even more tailored support to its clients and help them with their business development needs. As a global leader in sustainable finance, Crédit Agricole CIB will also offer a strong value proposition to Danish clients seeking to advance their sustainability journey. This is especially important given Denmark’s focus on energy transition and renewables in its economy.

Frédéric Beaujean will lead the new branch as Denmark Branch Manager, reporting to Blake Wright, Senior Country Officer for the Nordic Countries. Beaujean brings over two decades of experience with Crédit Agricole CIB and has successfully developed the bank’s franchise among Norwegian corporate clients since joining the Nordics Coverage team in 2015. He was appointed Senior Banker, Private Capital Group for the Nordics in November 2022 and will continue in this role alongside his new responsibilities as Denmark Branch Manager.

Georg Orssich, Senior Regional Officer for Europe (excl. France) at Crédit Agricole CIB, commented, “We are excited to expand our footprint in Denmark. The Nordic region is a priority market under our strategic plan in Europe. It is a region with highly rated corporate clients and forward-thinking views on ESG issues, and we are committed to further investing in this market and building long-lasting relationships with our clients.”

Blake Wright, Senior Country Officer for the Nordic Countries at Crédit Agricole CIB added, “The Nordics represents the fourth largest market in Europe in terms of wallet size and is a market with significant upside potential. The branch opening is a continuation of a long history of our service to the Danish market and complements our existing Nordics network in Sweden, Norway and Finland. Through the new local set-up, we will be able to offer the Bank’s full range of products to Danish clients.”

Crédit Agricole CIB’s expansion into Denmark is a key part of its broader strategic plan to reinforce its position in Europe and leverage the potential of new markets. The bank looks forward to building strong relationships with its Danish clients and contributing to the country’s sustainable growth.
