This event, a major attraction for thousands of visitors, will provide a platform for Eurojust to showcase its vital role in enhancing security across Europe’s major ports.

Ports like Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Hamburg serve as crucial gateways for Europe, handling over 90 million containers annually and contributing significantly to economic growth and job creation. Eurojust’s participation is particularly timely given the growing concerns over the infiltration of European ports by organized crime. In 2023 alone, Eurojust supported 2,500 cross-border drug trafficking cases, contributing to the seizure of €25.6 billion worth of illegal drugs. As a key member of the European Ports Alliance, Eurojust plays a critical role in bolstering port security and ensuring that Europe’s gateways remain safe and secure.
