(PRESS RELEASE) FRANKFURT, 11-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Continental is making significant strides in the automotive aftermarket with a focus on sustainability, showcasing new products at the Automechanika 2024 in Frankfurt. The company introduced the CONTI NXT Multi V-belt, made of nearly two-thirds sustainable materials, and the ATE New Original product line, aimed at next-generation brake systems for electric vehicles. Both initiatives highlight Continental’s commitment to reducing environmental impact without compromising product performance.

The CONTI NXT Multi V-belt is the first of its kind, incorporating recycled PET bottles, organic fibers, and mass-balance-certified rubber to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of traditional V-belts. This innovation will be available in early 2025, marking a major step forward in sustainable automotive parts manufacturing.

In addition, the ATE New Original brake line, designed for electric vehicles, introduces new friction pairings and the ATE SecuBrake, a sustainably produced brake fluid. These products are set to comply with the upcoming Euro 7 regulation, which calls for a reduction in particulate emissions from braking systems.

Continental also presented its UltraContact NXT tire, made from up to 65% renewable, recycled, and certified materials, combining high sustainability with superior safety and performance.

This push towards sustainability reflects Continental’s dedication to supporting the transition to green mobility by leveraging its expertise in original equipment manufacturing (OEM) to develop environmentally friendly products for workshops and customers alike.
