Hamburg Senator for Schools and Education, Ksenija Bekeris, joined Aurubis CEO Dr. Toralf Haag to welcome the new trainees, praising the company for its role in advancing innovation through the production of metals critical for electric vehicles and renewable energy.

Aurubis, a leading multimetal producer, offers training across 12 vocations, including dual work/study programs. The company is also committed to providing opportunities for young people through initiatives like the “10-Plus” preparatory program, which helps students from the neighboring Veddel district gain entry-level qualifications in metal and chemical fields.

Aurubis CEO Dr. Haag emphasized the importance of the apprentices’ decision, noting that they are joining an industry that plays a vital role in enabling future innovations. Aurubis continues to be a major player in the fight against the skilled labor shortage, with more than 85% of its trainees choosing to remain with the company after completing their education.
