BMT to replace the Integrated Marine Monitoring System on the floating production unit (FPU) Salamanca in the US Gulf of Mexico

Monitoring system for uniquely engineered offshore system

(PRESS RELEASE) TEDDINGTON, 6-Oct-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — BMT Group Ltd (BMT), a leading international multi-disciplinary engineering, science, and technology company, has announced the company will replace the Integrated Marine Monitoring System on the floating production unit (FPU) Salamanca in the US Gulf of Mexico as part of a new contract won in a competitive bid. Salamanca was decommissioned by its former operator in 2019 and is now undergoing refurbishment and redeployment and will service production from the joint development of the Leon and Castile deepwater discoveries according to an announcement made earlier this year by LLOG and industry partners.

The updated IMMS incorporates more robust instrumentation and capabilities, providing a deeper level of integration and reliability than its predecessors and allowing offshore operations personnel greater access to information to enable them to work safely by making informed decisions. To date, we have designed and manufactured more than 120 life-of-field IMMS for multiple floating production asset types worldwide (including Semi-subs, Spars, TLPs, FPSOs, SPM buoys), which allows us to bring an enormous amount of technical experience and value add to the project.

“Our long running commitment to the GoM region has been rewarded with this latest contract award. The Americas team at BMT take pride in supporting our clients and ensuring that assets in the FPU domain receive the appropriate support to maintain whilst operating efficiently in the harsh / unpredictable environment that our home region presents.” – Neil Charles, President, BMT’s Critical Infrastructure Americas Operating Unit.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our industry partners on the uniquely designed Salamanca FPU, and to provide meaningful solutions to complex Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”)-related challenges.” added Charles.
