The initiative positions BBVA among the first financial institutions to introduce a dedicated application within ChatGPT, enabling customers to explore banking products through natural language conversations without leaving the platform.

The application is designed to respond to informational queries, making it easier for users to learn about BBVA’s digital banking services in both markets. Through conversational interaction, users can review and compare account features, payment cards and savings products offered by the bank’s digital operations in Italy and Germany. The application also provides direct links to relevant product pages on the BBVA website, allowing customers to continue their journey seamlessly.

BBVA intends to gradually expand the capabilities of the application, with the long-term objective of developing a conversational digital companion that helps customers make more informed financial decisions through personalised and intuitive interactions.

The launch represents another step in BBVA’s broader effort to integrate digital banking services with conversational artificial intelligence and to expand access through platforms already widely used by customers. The BBVA application is currently available in Italian and German and can be accessed by ChatGPT users located in Italy or Germany. Users can find the application through the Apps section within ChatGPT or via a dedicated access link and connect it to their ChatGPT account.

Once connected, users can interact with the BBVA application directly in conversation by submitting questions about products and services. The application provides tailored responses and offers options to explore additional products as well as related questions frequently asked by other customers, creating a smooth and interactive experience.

How to access BBVA app in ChatGPT

  1. Only available in Italian and German for customers accessing ChatGPT from Italy or Germany.
  2. Customers can access the BBVA app either via this dedicated link or by searching BBVA in the Apps section within ChatGPT (on the top left of their screen on desktop and in the top-left menu in their ChatGPT mobile applications).
  3. Users will be prompted to connect the BBVA app to their ChatGPT experience.
  4. After completing this step, they can start interacting with BBVA by addressing the app directly within the conversation. For example, users can ask questions by mentioning the app and typing their query, enabling a seamless, conversational interaction, i.e. ‘@BBVA App What are the advantages of the BBVA account?’. Alternatively, users can select the BBVA app from the plus (+) menu in the chat input before submitting their question.
  5. The BBVA app will provide the personalized response and the customer can explore the different app functionalities: Personal answer, Explore other products, and Related questions and answers that other customers asked.
