Bang & Olufsen Unveils Final Anniversary Speakers Combining Advanced Acoustics with Artisanal Craftsmanship

(IN BRIEF) Bang & Olufsen has introduced the Beolab 90 Monarch and Zenith Editions, completing its five-part Atelier centenary series celebrating 100 years of design and audio innovation. The Monarch Edition emphasizes Danish craftsmanship through sculpted rosewood and aluminium, while the Zenith Edition features intricate aluminium spheres and mother-of-pearl detailing for a reflective, tactile design. Both maintain the flagship speaker’s advanced acoustic performance while elevating its visual and material expression. Produced in limited quantities, the editions are positioned as collector’s items and will debut at the company’s San Francisco showroom before touring globally.

(PRESS RELEASE) STRUER, 1-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Bang & Olufsen has unveiled the final two editions in its five-part Atelier centenary collection, introducing the Beolab 90 Monarch Edition and Beolab 90 Zenith Edition. These limited creations conclude a series celebrating the brand’s 100-year heritage, following earlier releases including the Titan, Shadow, and Mirage Editions.

Both editions reinterpret the company’s flagship Beolab 90 loudspeaker by emphasizing craftsmanship, materials, and sculptural design, blending acoustic engineering with artistic expression. The Monarch Edition draws inspiration from Danish furniture traditions, incorporating angled rosewood lamellas that wrap around the aluminium structure to create a flowing, tactile form. Carefully positioned wooden knots connect the elements, while a solid rosewood top ring and coordinated base panels establish a cohesive architectural design. The interplay between natural wood and ochre-toned aluminium highlights the balance between organic and engineered materials, while semi-transparent fabric elements subtly reveal the speaker’s internal acoustic components.

In contrast, the Zenith Edition focuses on reflective textures and intricate detailing. Its exterior is composed of panels featuring hundreds of anodized aluminium spheres arranged in pearl-inspired colour tones, creating a dynamic surface that interacts with light throughout the day. A precision-machined aluminium facemask with a pearl-blasted finish complements the design, while a mother-of-pearl inlay on the top adds a refined focal point. The curved panel construction follows the contours of the speaker, integrating visual artistry with functional design elements.

Both editions retain the core acoustic capabilities of the Beolab 90, including its system of 18 custom drivers and advanced beam-forming technology, ensuring that the aesthetic enhancements do not compromise performance. Instead, the designs aim to elevate the listening experience by engaging multiple senses through texture, light, and material composition.

The Monarch and Zenith Editions complete Bang & Olufsen’s Atelier anniversary series, with each edition produced in a strictly limited run of ten pairs. Each unit is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, and collectors receive a miniature aluminium Beolab 90 sculpture corresponding to the edition, presented in a custom-designed case.

The new editions will make their first public appearance at the brand’s flagship Culture Store in San Francisco, where they will be showcased before embarking on a global tour. The location, recognized as the largest Bang & Olufsen showroom worldwide, provides an immersive setting for presenting the collection to clients and enthusiasts.

With these final releases, Bang & Olufsen concludes its centenary celebration by combining its longstanding expertise in sound engineering with a focus on design innovation and craftsmanship.
