(PRESS RELEASE) LOSSBURG, INZERSDORF, 9-May-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — ARBURG, one of the leading global manufacturers of injection moulding machines for plastics processing, has announced it celebrated the 10th anniversary of its subsidiary in Austria with high profile guests at an event held at Voest Alpine Stahlwelt in Linz, Austria. The event and open house had to be postponed for more than 2 years due to the COVID pandemic, but the waiting was worth it as the 10th anniversary of Arburg Austria was finally celebrated on 3rd and 4th of May 2022 with high-profile representatives from the parent company in attendance and about 200 guests.

“The founding of the Arburg subsidiary in 2010 was a milestone for the successful development of our company in Austria. I am very impressed with what our team has achieved here on location over the last decade,” Juliane Hehl, Managing Partner at Arburg, said on behalf of the parent company, before presenting Jerome Berger, Managing Director of Arburg Austria, with an anniversary sculpture. The celebration took place on 3 May with invited guests at “Voest Alpine Stahlwelt” in Linz. Prof. Dr. Andreas Fath also made a keynote speech. Currently, he is swimming the entire Danube river to the Black Sea as part of a transnational project supported by Arburg. On 2 May he had reached the stage destination of Linz, not entirely by chance.

Successful engagement in Austria
The first Arburg machine for Austria, a C4S, was sold to Moosbrunn way back in 1959. From the late 1970s, the Lossburg-based machine manufacturer was active on the market through its trading partner, Franz Josef Mayr, and from 2006, had a representation office in Austria. In order to have ‘a direct line’ to customers and to identify market trends at an early stage, Arburg founded its own subsidiary there in 2010. In May 2014, the Arburg Technology Center (ATC) started operations in Micheldorf near Kirchberg – one of Austria’s booming regions for plastics – with Peter Ahrens as application technician. For the first time, the technical department, spare parts service and training courses were united under one roof.

A milestone was reached in March 2018 with the move to ATC Inzersdorf in the Kremstal region. Since November 2020, Jerome Berger has been Managing Director there: “Our goal is to continually expand our first-class customer care and Arburg’s presence as one of the top manufacturers in the country.” His team, comprising sales consultants, training experts and application and service technicians, now covers all important areas with a wealth of expertise. The Arburg experts in Kremstal, Austria’s very own Silicone Valley, are also valued as innovative cooperation partners when it comes to training and research. Located in the vicinity of the ATC location are important educational institutions and many plastics companies. Partners include the Steyr Vocational School and the University of Leoben.

Exciting open house
In its 300 or so square metres, the ATC has space for a showroom, spare parts logistics, as well as a large area for training and networking. During the open house on 4 May 2022, three Allrounder injection moulding machines that are otherwise used for practical tests and tool mould trials, demonstrated the performance of the injection moulding portfolio:

  • A hybrid Allrounder 630 H with Gestica control system and Multilift robotic system produced “popcorn cups” with a crinkle look on a mould by Haidlmair.
  • An electric Allrounder 570 A with Selogica ND control system produced bottle openers on a LSR mould from our partner Rico.
Another automated hydraulic Allrounder 370 S with Selogica control system presented the overmoulding of inserts with a mould from PTM.
  • The customers were delighted by the high-tech applications and the specialist talks on topics such as Turnkey, Circular Economy und Digitalisation. The customer portal arburgXworld also attracted great interest, as did the freeformer for additive manufacturing, which was presented live by experts from Lossburg.
