Erste Group Executive Slavomír Seemann Named CFO of Slovenská sporiteľňa Ahead of Leadership Transition

(IN BRIEF) The Supervisory Board of Slovenská sporiteľňa has appointed Slavomír Seemann as the bank’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 April 2026 pending regulatory approval, marking a strategic move to strengthen governance and financial leadership at board level. Seemann, currently Head of Group Performance Management at Erste Group, brings extensive experience in controlling, financial steering, and transformation, along with deep familiarity with the Slovak banking market from his previous roles at Slovenská sporiteľňa. Chairwoman Alexandra Habeler-Drabek welcomed his appointment as a valuable addition to the Board, while Michaela Bauer prepares to assume her role as CEO on 1 March 2026, succeeding Peter Krutil, who will leave the bank at the end of March.

(PRESS RELEASE) VIENNA, 2-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — The Supervisory Board of Slovenská sporiteľňa has decided to appoint Slavomír Seemann as the bank’s new Chief Financial Officer, with his mandate scheduled to begin on 1 April 2026, subject to the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals. The decision reflects the institution’s intention to further strengthen its executive governance and reinforce its financial leadership at board level.

Slavomír Seemann brings extensive experience from within Erste Group, where he has built a distinguished career in finance and strategic performance management. He currently serves as Head of Group Performance Management, overseeing the controlling function for both Erste Group and Erste Bank Oesterreich while shaping the strategic direction of financial steering across the organization. His professional background also includes many years at Slovenská sporiteľňa in Bratislava, where he led accounting and controlling functions and played a key role in statutory reporting, the implementation of IFRS 9, bank consolidation, strategic planning, and information governance. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex transformation initiatives in an international banking environment.

Commenting on the appointment, Alexandra Habeler-Drabek, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Slovenská sporiteľňa, emphasized that the creation of a dedicated CFO role on the Board was a deliberate step to enhance governance and support the bank’s long-term strategic objectives. She highlighted that Seemann is a highly respected professional with a proven track record across Erste Group and a deep understanding of the Slovak market. Habeler-Drabek further noted that his years of collaboration within the Group have earned him her trust and admiration, expressing confidence that his expertise and leadership will deliver significant value for Slovenská sporiteľňa.

In parallel, Michaela Bauer is set to take up her position as the new Chief Executive Officer of Slovenská sporiteľňa on 1 March 2026. She will succeed Peter Krutil, who has decided to pursue opportunities outside the bank and will step down from his role on 31 March 2026.
