(IN BRIEF) Visa and TikTok have launched the UK’s first Creator Card, a debit card designed to help content creators better manage their finances and access their earnings more quickly. The partnership reflects the growing recognition of creators as entrepreneurs and aims to support their ability to scale and sustain their businesses. Backed by research highlighting widespread cash flow issues among creators, the Creator Card represents a step toward more tailored financial solutions in a rapidly expanding digital sector.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 21-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Visa has partnered with TikTok to introduce the UK’s first “Creator Card,” a debit card tailored specifically for content creators. The initiative is designed to support the rapidly expanding creator economy by offering tools that improve financial management, cash flow, and access to earnings.

The new Creator Card is linked to a dedicated business account, enabling TikTok LIVE creators to access their income more quickly and spend funds without the delays typically associated with payout processing. The solution addresses a common challenge among creators, whose income often arrives irregularly rather than through predictable monthly payments.

The launch responds to growing demand for financial tools suited to digital entrepreneurs. Research conducted by Visa shows that a significant portion of creators rely on self-funding, while nearly half have experienced delayed payments. Many also report difficulties managing cash flow and separating personal and business finances—an issue the Creator Card aims to address directly.

During TikTok LIVE sessions, creators earn virtual gifts from audiences, which can be converted into monetary rewards. However, delays in accessing these earnings can create financial strain, particularly when creators need to cover expenses or reinvest in their work. By enabling faster access to funds, the Creator Card supports more efficient financial planning and business growth.

Lucy Demery, Senior Vice President and Head of Visa Commercial Solutions Europe, stated that the initiative is designed to empower creators as entrepreneurs by simplifying access to income from various sources, including live streaming, brand collaborations, and platform payouts. She emphasized that improved cash flow management allows creators to focus on expanding their businesses.

The partnership also highlights broader challenges within the creator economy. According to Visa’s research, payment delays have affected nearly half of creators, with many reporting missed opportunities and increased stress due to inconsistent income streams. These findings underline the need for more tailored financial solutions in the sector.

Paula D’Urbano, Country Manager for TikTok LIVE in the UK, Ireland, and Baltics, noted that the platform is playing a key role in shaping a new generation of digital entrepreneurs. She highlighted that the collaboration with Visa enhances the tools available to creators, helping them transform their online activities into sustainable careers.

The launch builds on Visa’s broader strategy to support the creator economy, following earlier initiatives such as its Creator Report and pilot programs aimed at providing financial services to content creators. With the global creator economy projected to grow significantly in the coming years, the partnership reflects increasing recognition of creators as small business operators with evolving financial needs.

The announcement marks the latest milestone in Visa’s commitment to creators, following the launch last year of a Creator Report and Creator Agent Pilot with Karat
