Taking You to the BAMBI Stage with Facebook

The BAMBI Awards Are Using a Multitude of Social Media Activities to Enable Fans to Experience Them Live

Munich, 5-11-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — How would you like to award the superstars of One Direction their trophy on the grand BAMBI stage or take photographs of the stars and meet your idols on the red carpet? BAMBI is using a variety of promotions and competitions in social networks to provide people with a live experience of the presentation of Germany’s most important media prize. The social media offensive that was launched last year for the 64th BAMBI Award Ceremony in the German city of Düsseldorf on 22nd November is still in progress with the aim of providing young target audiences with an intense experience of Germany’s most important media prize. Alongside a repetition of the successful campaigns on Facebook and Twitter that were already used for the 2011 event, this year’s promotion activities are also making use of the channels provided by Tumblr, Spotify, Pinterest and Instagram.

Female fans of the official BAMBI fanpage on Facebook can again apply to become Miss BAMBI in a voting campaign that is being held in cooperation with the event partner Douglas and attracted over 1500 candidates in 2011. The winner of the campaign will be selected by Facebook fans and a special jury and will have the unique opportunity to appear in the live show (at 8:15pm on 22nd November on the German television channel “Das Erste”) and present the members of the band One Direction with their BAMBI Award.

Another competition on the photo-sharing portal Instagram is looking for red carpet reporters for the event. Internet users can upload photos onto the website and, as in the competition described above, the winners will then be selected by the Facebook community and a jury. This promotion is sponsored by the BAMBI partner Motorola, which will also be presenting the winners with its Motorola RAZR i smartphone. The photographs taken by the red carpet reporters will additionally be published on the website BUNTE.de.

Over 50,000 followers are currently using Twitter to access information on other promotions and competitions and the latest news concerning the BAMBI Awards. BAMBI fans can also use the social photo-sharing network Pinterest to share both recent and historic images relating to all aspects of the media prize on their pinboards. The music portal Spotify is another website that is getting involved in the event by giving users the chance to hear playlists containing songs by BAMBI 2012 winners such as One Direction and Céline Dion and the greatest BAMBI hits by award winners from previous years. On top of all this, the BAMBI Awards are additionally making active use of the microblogging platform Tumblr for the first time with their very own blog. Last but not least, Internet users can make the most of the official BAMBI website at www.bambi.de to access background information on award winners, promotions and competitions in the run-up to the award ceremony.
