(PRESS RELEASE) COPENHAGEN, 12-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Ramboll has announced its strategic acquisition of Temple, a UK-based consultancy specializing in environment and sustainability. This move, which adds 150 professionals to Ramboll’s growing team, will strengthen the company’s existing expertise in impact assessments, biodiversity advisory, and sustainability services, while also introducing new capabilities that align with its long-term objectives.

As Ramboll continues to expand, having recently acquired K2 Management and i3 Solutions, the addition of Temple, a certified B-corp consultancy, marks a significant step in meeting the increasing demand for resilient, future-proof environmental solutions. The merger of the two companies reflects their shared commitment to sustainability and their complementary approaches to addressing the complex challenges faced by clients in urban and natural environments.

Temple’s deep experience in environment, ecology, and sustainability will significantly bolster Ramboll’s position in the industry. Known for its involvement in major projects such as the planning and application for the £800m Jersey Hospital and its work on key infrastructure initiatives like High Speed 2 and East West Rail, Temple brings valuable expertise in ecology, noise, air quality, and health services, among others.

With this acquisition, Ramboll’s Environment & Health division in the UK will see a major boost, now reaching a team of approximately 450 professionals. Temple’s capabilities will be expanded globally through Ramboll’s extensive network of 18,000 experts spread across more than 300 offices worldwide.

Mark Skelton, CEO of Temple, will integrate into Ramboll’s global leadership team for Environment & Health, working alongside Philippa Spence, Managing Director of Environment & Health at Ramboll. Meanwhile, Temple’s Founder and outgoing Chair, Mark Southwood, will remain with the company for the next three months to support the integration process and offer advisory services before transitioning to focus on sustainability initiatives through the Southwood Foundation.

Philippa Spence expressed her excitement about the acquisition, saying, “We’re thrilled to bring Temple’s team aboard—known for their exceptional expertise in their fields. Together, we’ll tackle urgent environmental challenges, such as biodiversity loss, which poses significant threats to global economies.”

Mark Skelton, CEO of Temple, remarked, “Joining Ramboll is a natural progression for Temple, as our missions align perfectly. This acquisition opens doors to greater opportunities for our teams and clients alike, leveraging Ramboll’s global reach and investment to accelerate our impact.”

Mark Southwood, Temple’s Founder, added, “I am immensely proud of Temple’s journey over the years, and I look forward to seeing our legacy grow stronger with Ramboll as we continue to push for a sustainable future for both people and the planet.”
