With over 24 years of insurance management experience, including senior roles at ICICI Prudential and Manulife Asia, Banerjee’s return to Prudential aims to bolster the company’s focus on leveraging technology for agent empowerment and customer engagement. The appointment aligns with Prudential’s strategic ambition, set out under CEO Anil Wadhwani, to significantly grow agency new business profit by 2027.

Reporting to Lilian Ng, Managing Director of the Strategic Business Group, Banerjee will spearhead Prudential’s technology-driven distribution strategy, focusing specifically on agency operations. Based at Prudential’s headquarters in Hong Kong, Banerjee will collaborate closely with teams across the company’s 24 markets in Asia and Africa.

With over 24 years of experience in insurance management, Banerjee returns to Prudential, where he has previously held senior positions at ICICI Prudential in India and served as Chief Partnership Distribution Officer at Prudential Vietnam, among other roles. Most recently, he held the position of Chief Distribution Officer for Manulife Asia and has also led as CEO for AIA in Sri Lanka and CEO, Partnership Distribution at the AIA Group.

Prudential unveiled a new strategic direction in August 2023 under CEO Anil Wadhwani, aiming to achieve significant agency growth by increasing new business profit by 2.5 to 3 times from 2022 levels by 2027.
