Prudential Appoints Arjan Toor as CEO Health to Drive Transformation and Customer Trust

(IN BRIEF) Prudential plc has announced the appointment of Arjan Toor as its new CEO Health, effective from February 1, 2024. This appointment is a significant step in Prudential’s strategic transformation, focusing on its Health business as one of its core pillars to accelerate value creation for stakeholders. Arjan Toor, a seasoned healthcare executive with over 27 years of leadership experience, will assume full financial and operational responsibility for Prudential’s Health business. He aims to lead a network of Chief Health Officers and collaborate with 24 markets to expand the business while enhancing customer trust and improving the healthcare journey. Mr. Toor’s extensive background includes leadership roles in healthcare across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, with his most recent position being CEO for Cigna Europe. He takes over from Andrew Wong, the previous Group Chief Health Officer, who is departing Prudential to explore non-executive opportunities. (PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 16-Jan-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Prudential plc (“Prudential”) has today announced the appointment of Arjan Toor as its new CEO Health. Mr Toor will be based in Singapore and joins the business on 1 February 2024. He will report to Solmaz Altin, Managing Director, Strategic Business Group.

Last August, Prudential announced its new business strategy, and the transformation of the Health business is one of the three strategic pillars of the roadmap to accelerate value creation for all its stakeholders.

The appointment of Mr Toor is a critical step in this transformation and shows Prudential’s commitment to becoming the most trusted partner for its customers throughout their healthcare journey.

As CEO Health, Mr Toor will have full financial and operational accountability of Prudential’s Health business. He will lead a network of Chief Health Officers and work closely with its 24 markets to grow the business, creating operating leverage across the entire value chain.

Mr Toor is a seasoned senior healthcare executive with over 27 years’ experience in leadership roles across Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. He was most recently CEO for Cigna Europe, one of the largest global health services companies, where he gained deep health insurance knowledge and experience with an admirable track record of success.

Prior to his time at Cigna, Mr Toor worked for the Dutch financial services firm ING for 15 years in a variety of marketing leadership roles, building teams that excelled at developing innovative customer propositions and delivering intuitive, personalised customer experiences.

Mr Toor succeeds Group Chief Health Officer Andrew Wong, who is leaving Prudential to explore non-executive opportunities.
