Proximus Global and Nokia Unveil Joint Plan for Developer-Friendly Network APIs at #MWC25

(IN BRIEF) Proximus Global, a digital communications leader, has entered a strategic collaboration with Nokia to integrate each other’s network APIs on their respective marketplaces. This move, showcased at #MWC25, aims to give developers better access to telecom capabilities—particularly 5G slicing, fraud prevention, and real-time analytics—across diverse industries such as finance and healthcare. Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform and Enterprise API Hub will help Proximus Global’s customers build applications on 4G and 5G networks, while Nokia benefits from Proximus Global’s expansive market presence. Both companies see this alliance as a way to streamline developer engagement and broaden the use of advanced telecom services.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 5-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Proximus Global, the international digital communications leader uniting BICS, Telesign, and Route Mobile, has announced a strategic collaboration with Nokia to expand access to network API solutions for enterprises. This partnership will make Proximus Global’s network APIs available through Nokia’s Network as Code platform, while Nokia’s CAMARA and 5G APIs will gain broader reach via Proximus Global’s developer channels.

By integrating each other’s APIs into their respective marketplaces, the two companies aim to bridge gaps between telecom operators and diverse industry sectors—including financial services and healthcare—where network slicing, fraud prevention, and other advanced functionalities are in demand. Proximus Global will additionally look to leverage Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform and Enterprise API Hub, allowing developers to seamlessly build applications across its 4G and 5G networks.

“Proximus Global has traditionally offered a rich set of communication APIs, and we now plan to complement these with network APIs so enterprises and developers can easily access our network capabilities,” said Christophe Van De Weyer, Chief Product Officer at Proximus Global and CEO of Telesign. He noted that this will provide value-added solutions for wholesale and enterprise customers alike.

Meanwhile, Nokia’s Head of Network Monetization Platform, Shkumbin Hamiti, highlighted that the collaboration ensures “choice, flexibility, and security” for developers integrating Proximus Global’s network into their platforms. He emphasized that Nokia’s Network as Code platform continues to attract major carriers worldwide, and this latest endeavor with Proximus Global further strengthens its partner ecosystem.

With Nokia’s established Network as Code initiative already drawing participants like BT, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, and others, the partnership is poised to widen the scope of use cases—from large-scale live events to real-time fraud detection—through innovative, developer-friendly APIs. The companies view this move as a major step in democratizing access to advanced telecom features, enabling global enterprises to create and deploy novel applications quickly and securely.
