Under this agreement, Hydrovolt will supply black mass generated from the mechanical recycling of electric vehicle (EV) batteries at its state-of-the-art facility in Fredrikstad, Norway, to Fortum’s cutting-edge battery material recycling plant in Harjavalta, Finland. Leveraging Fortum’s expertise in hydrometallurgical processes, the Harjavalta facility will extract valuable metals from the black mass, enabling the production of new lithium-ion batteries.
