Johanna Kreft Named Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Sandvik

(IN BRIEF) Sandvik has appointed Johanna Kreft as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, effective October 13, 2025. Kreft, who is currently General Counsel at Alleima and a former long-time Sandvik legal executive, will also join Sandvik’s Group Executive Management. She brings over 15 years of experience within the Sandvik group and has played key roles in both Sandvik and Alleima, particularly during the spinoff of Sandvik Materials Technology in 2022. She will replace Åsa Thunman, who is set to leave for a similar role at Skanska. CEO Stefan Widing praised Kreft’s leadership skills and her deep understanding of the company’s legal landscape.

Kreft, who currently serves in the same capacity at Alleima, will also join Sandvik’s Group Executive Management team.

With more than 15 years of experience at Sandvik prior to her current role at Alleima, Kreft has held several senior legal positions within the company. Before the 2022 spinoff of Sandvik Materials Technology into Alleima, she was the Business Area General Counsel for SMT. Earlier in her career, she also served as Chief Legal Counsel for SMT and as Legal Counsel at Sandvik AB.

She will succeed Åsa Thunman, who will be departing Sandvik to assume a similar executive legal role at Skanska, a leading Swedish construction and project development company.

Born in 1976, Johanna Kreft is widely recognized for her leadership in building and modernizing legal organizations in complex, publicly listed environments.
