Henkel Opens Bengaluru Innovation Hub to Support Next Generation Electronics Manufacturing and Local Development

Henkel has launched its new customer application center in Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to India’s rapidly expanding electronics manufacturing sector.

(IN BRIEF) Henkel has opened a new customer application center in Bengaluru to support India’s expanding electronics manufacturing industry, providing a collaborative environment for co-developing and validating advanced materials and processes. The facility addresses a critical gap in local testing infrastructure by enabling manufacturers to conduct development work domestically, reducing costs and accelerating time to market. Covering key sectors such as 5G, AI, EV systems, and industrial automation, the center offers capabilities including thermal testing, dispensing technologies, and electrical characterization. Designed to replicate real production conditions, it allows for more efficient prototyping and validation. The initiative supports India’s Make in India and PLI programs while strengthening Henkel’s position as a partner in driving innovation and growth in the country’s electronics sector.

(PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 24-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Henkel has expanded its presence in India’s growing electronics manufacturing sector with the launch of a new customer application center in Bengaluru, designed as a collaborative hub for innovation and advanced material development. The facility aims to bring together Henkel’s technical expertise and customer engineering teams to co-create, test, and validate solutions for next-generation electronics production.

Positioned in one of India’s key technology hubs, the new center addresses a longstanding challenge within the country’s electronics value chain—the lack of locally available, high-end testing and validation infrastructure. By enabling manufacturers to conduct critical development processes domestically, the facility reduces reliance on overseas resources, shortens development timelines, and lowers associated costs.

S. Sunil Kumar, Country President for Henkel in India, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative, noting that India’s electronics ecosystem is entering a new phase of growth. He highlighted the increasing demand for localized collaboration, where manufacturers can move more efficiently from concept development to production by working closely with a partner capable of providing both materials and application expertise.

The Bengaluru facility spans 5,000 square feet, with nearly half dedicated to laboratory and testing functions. It has been designed to replicate real-world manufacturing environments, allowing customers to evaluate materials and processes under production-like conditions before scaling up. This approach enables more accurate validation, improved reliability, and faster commercialization of new technologies.

The application center focuses on five key sectors experiencing rapid growth: telecommunications and 5G infrastructure, data centers and AI computing, power electronics and electric vehicle systems, industrial automation, and medical electronics. It offers a wide range of capabilities, including thermal management testing, precision dispensing, electrical characterization, and rapid curing processes, supporting the entire development cycle from prototyping to production readiness.

A defining feature of the center is its collaborative model, where Henkel specialists work directly alongside customer teams to develop tailored solutions based on specific product designs and manufacturing requirements. This hands-on approach distinguishes the facility from traditional testing laboratories and supports more efficient innovation.

The center also contributes to India’s broader industrial strategy, aligning with initiatives such as Make in India and Production-Linked Incentive programs. By bringing advanced engineering, process optimization, and validation capabilities onshore, the facility enables manufacturers to accelerate development cycles and strengthen domestic production capabilities.

With this new addition, Henkel continues to build out its innovation ecosystem in India, reinforcing its role as a key partner in supporting the country’s ambitions to become a global hub for electronics manufacturing.
