GE ACADEMY online Final event


(PRESS RELEASE) THESSALONIKI, 8-Dec-2021 — /EuropaWire/ — Gender Equality Academy (GE Academy) on the 18th of November 2021 organized its online final event aimed at presenting the project results as well as their uptake after the project’s lifetime.

The online final event was held in zoom with simultaneous live streaming on the project’s YouTube channel and Facebook account having an overall duration of 2,15h. Approximately 100 participants representing actors/actresses from the R&I community were present, including change agents in research and HE Institutions, equal opportunity officers/Diversity officers in research or HE Institutions, team members of Gender Equality Plansin research or HE Institution, and researchers.

The floor opened with a welcome speech from GE Academy’s project coordinator, Vicky Moumtzi, followed by a presentation regarding the Gender Equality Plans in Horizon Europe given by Anne Pépin, Senior Policy Officer, European Commission DG Research & Innovation, Unit B7 Science with and for Society, Gender Sector. Then, Vicky Moumtzi presented the GE Academy’s achievements over the past three years, followed by a presentation given by GE Academy’s scientific coordinator, Lut Mergaert, regarding the project’s legacy. Afterward, Maria Sangiuliano, one of GE Academy’s partners, presented one of the main project outputs which is the pan-European network of trainers and its respective sustainability scenario after the project’s lifetime. The session was closed by Kiki Karydou, GE Academy’s dissemination and exploitation manager, presenting the potential ways of sustaining the project’s Gender Equality trainings after the project’s completion.

After the presentations, the floor was open to participants for a Q&A session.

The Gender Equality Academy (GE Academy) Project, supported by EU under Horizon 2020, develops and implements a coherent and high-quality capacity building programme on gender equality in Research and Innovation (R&I) field, based on state-of-the-art knowledge. The project seeks to provide tailor-made training material in diverse formats, such as train-the-trainers, in-person trainings and interactive workshops, summer schools, webinars and online distributed open collaborative courses.
