Fourth Annual Plasticity Forum in Cascais, Portugal to Discuss New Report on Plastic-to-Fuel

June event will highlight innovations in plastic recycling and corporate sustainability

Cascais, PORTUGAL and HONG KONG, 21-5-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — The Plasticity Forum will hold its 4th annual conference on June 8th and 9th in Cascais, Portugal. The forum will bring together global business leaders and experts to present innovative solutions to address the growing plastic pollution and marine litter problem.

This year’s forum theme is “Designing for Circularity, Customer Engagement, Reverse Supply Chains and Reaching Scale.”

Plasticity Forum is unique in its focus on upstream solutions, which prevent plastic pollution before impacting our communities or entering our waters. The agenda includes several companies which are leading the way in plastic recycling and transforming plastic waste into revenue streams. This year’s event will also feature a keynote presentation on a new report on Plastic-to-Fuel.

“ACC is excited to be announcing a report completed with Ocean Recovery Alliance to help unlock the potential for plastic-to-fuel technologies to deliver economic and environmental benefits to communities around the world,” said Steve Russell, Vice President of Plastics for the American Chemistry Council. “We look forward to debuting a new report at Plasticity Forum which documents how these technologies are turning used plastic into value, as well as a publically available financial modeling tool that will help communities find the right technology to meet their needs.”

Other keynote speakers include Dr. Mike Biddle of MBA Polymers, and Andrew Morlet of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The two-day event will include presentations from over 20 innovators and experts from across the globe and a welcome message from the Mayor of Cascais, Dr. Carlos Carrerais. The event venue will be the Pousada de Cascais – Cidadela Historic Hotel, a historic fortress which faces the Atlantic Ocean, now converted into a luxurious resort. The event will also include a special dinner at The Presidential Palace in Cascais for all attendees.
