FläktGroup Becomes Part of Samsung Electronics, Accelerating Innovation and Global Expansion in Climate Solutions

(IN BRIEF) FläktGroup has been acquired by Samsung Electronics, marking a new chapter in global HVAC innovation. The acquisition will see FläktGroup operate as an independent subsidiary, maintaining its name and management while benefiting from Samsung’s global scale and R&D capabilities. Together, the companies aim to expand in high-growth areas such as AI data centres, smart buildings, and large industrial applications. The integration of FläktGroup’s advanced HVAC systems with Samsung’s SmartThings Pro and b.IoT platforms is expected to accelerate the development of energy-efficient and intelligent building solutions. Both companies view the partnership as a key driver for long-term market leadership, combining FläktGroup’s century-long engineering expertise with Samsung’s technological strength and global reach.

(PRESS RELEASE) HERNE, 6-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — FläktGroup, Europe’s largest HVAC solutions provider, has officially joined Samsung Electronics following a completed acquisition that marks a major strategic milestone for both companies. The move strengthens Samsung’s leadership in HVAC, smart building, and data centre technologies, while accelerating FläktGroup’s global expansion and innovation capabilities.

Operating as an independent subsidiary under Samsung Electronics, FläktGroup will continue to maintain its name, leadership team, personnel, and facilities, ensuring the preservation of its engineering heritage and brand identity. Samsung plans to harness FläktGroup’s expertise and established network to enhance research and development, optimize its global supply chain, and expand production and service capabilities across Europe, North America, and Asia.

“This marks a strategic move for Samsung, aimed at leading the global HVAC and data centre markets,” said TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “By merging FläktGroup’s technological expertise with Samsung’s AI platforms, we aim to set a new benchmark in the industry, delivering innovative solutions to customers.”

FläktGroup brings to Samsung over a century of experience in air technology, providing advanced central air conditioning and precision cooling solutions for industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, data centres, and biopharma. The company operates more than 10 global production sites and an extensive sales and service network that spans Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia.

The acquisition also includes FläktGroup’s subsidiaries — Woods Air Movement, SEMCO, and SE-Elektronic — each contributing specialist capabilities in ventilation, air handling, and automation systems. Samsung’s integration plan focuses on aligning these technologies with its building management platforms, including SmartThings Pro and b.IoT, to accelerate progress in energy-efficient and intelligent building solutions.

“Joining Samsung will accelerate FläktGroup’s global market expansion and drive technological innovation,” said Trevor Young, CEO of FläktGroup. “The synergy between our companies will be a major turning point in developing future-oriented HVAC solutions.”

Samsung will strategically position its HVAC business as a new growth engine within the DX Division. Building on last year’s joint venture with Lennox in North America, the acquisition enhances Samsung’s ability to serve major markets with localized supply chains and advanced commercial solutions. The company also plans to expand into high-growth sectors, particularly AI data centres and large-scale industrial projects, where precision cooling and energy efficiency are increasingly critical.

FläktGroup’s proven track record includes participation in the Stargate Project and partnerships with hyperscale technology customers. With its dedicated North America data centre team and global account hub in Singapore, the company is well-positioned to support the rising global demand for AI-driven infrastructure.

By combining Samsung’s innovation and digital platforms with FläktGroup’s HVAC engineering excellence, the two companies are poised to redefine the standards for smart, sustainable, and data-driven climate control solutions worldwide.
