Since launching its flagship programmes in 2011, the company has supported more than 480,000 people across 14 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa, backed by an investment exceeding €10 million.

Through its “On the Move for Water” and “On the Move for Zero Hunger” initiatives, Ferrovial continues to combine financial support with technical expertise and employee engagement to deliver sustainable community projects. These programmes focus on addressing fundamental needs that directly influence health, education and economic development.

In 2026, Ferrovial is partnering with organisations including Manos Unidas, Fundación Recover, Fundación Agrónomos sin Fronteras and San Juan de Dios Spain to expand its efforts. The projects aim to provide access to safe drinking water in regions across Africa and Asia, while also improving food access and facilities for vulnerable populations in Spain. Collectively, these initiatives are expected to benefit more than 30,000 people this year.

Within the “On the Move for Water” programme, Ferrovial continues to develop infrastructure solutions tailored to local conditions. In Rajasthan, India, the company is working with Manos Unidas to design and install water systems across 15 villages, ensuring reliable access to safe drinking water. In Foumban, Cameroon, collaboration with Fundación Recover focuses on rehabilitating water supply, sanitation and waste management systems at Njissé Hospital, incorporating solar-powered water capture, storage and purification technologies. In Tanzania, alongside Fundación Agrónomos sin Fronteras, Ferrovial is constructing a well and water collection system in Kinyika, complemented by treatment and storage facilities, as well as sanitation infrastructure for local schools and healthcare centres.

The “On the Move for Zero Hunger” programme, launched in response to the economic challenges of 2012, continues to address food insecurity in Spain by supporting organisations that assist vulnerable groups. Since its inception, the initiative has helped approximately 90,000 people by upgrading infrastructure such as social canteens and food distribution facilities.

As part of its 2026 efforts, Ferrovial will renovate the San Juan de Dios social dining facility in Granada. Planned improvements include the installation of an access ramp, refurbishment of hygiene facilities and upgrades to the dining area, enhancing safety, accessibility and operational efficiency. The centre currently supports more than 8,000 individuals annually.
