Amey’s Sustainability and Social Value Strategy Strengthened by Verification of Carbon Footprint with BSI

(IN BRIEF) Amey has received verification of its carbon footprint from 2019 to 2021 by the British Standards Institution (BSI) as part of its commitment to achieving net zero. The verification with the globally recognized ISO 14064-1 ensures that Amey’s reported carbon footprint is transparent, complete, accurate, and consistent, allowing the company to report confidently on its net-zero pledge and science-based targets. Amey aims to achieve Scope 1 and 2 net zero by 2035 with a minimum of 80% absolute reduction on a 2019 baseline and to become fully net zero, including Scope 3, by 2040. Amey’s Bolder Steps Together strategy highlights its progress in decarbonization, circular economy, and social value, which supports its customers’ sustainability goals.

(PRESS RELEASE) OXFORD, 7-Mar-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —  Amey, a leading infrastructure services and engineering company part of Ferrovial, announces that it has taken a crucial step in its commitment to achieving net zero by securing verification of its carbon footprint from 2019 to 2021 with the British Standards Institution (BSI). Verification with the globally recognized ISO 14064-1 is an essential part of Amey’s Sustainability and Social Value strategy, ensuring that its reported carbon footprint is transparent, complete, accurate, and consistent. This achievement enables Amey to report confidently on its pledge to net zero and science-based targets, and better support its customers on their own net-zero journeys.

Amey is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and achieving carbon net zero by 2040. The company has set two ambitious targets: to achieve Scope 1 and 2 net zero by 2035 with a minimum of 80% absolute reduction on a 2019 baseline and to become fully net zero, including Scope 3, by 2040. Later this year, Amey will seek external verification and report on its 2022 carbon footprint.

Andy Milner, CEO, Amey, commented, “I am delighted that we have gained verification of our carbon footprint. We recognise how important it is to know that we are taking the right steps forward to reach Net Zero and that we are a credible source of information and resource for our clients. We have a clear Net Zero plan and this is an excellent step for Amey on our journey.”

Through its Bolder Steps Together strategy, Amey’s roadmap to net zero focuses on several key areas, including decarbonization, circular economy, and social value. The company’s progress so far is demonstrated through various case studies, which are available on its website.

Achieving verification of its carbon footprint is an important milestone for Amey in its sustainability journey, highlighting its commitment to a net-zero future and supporting its customers in achieving their own sustainability goals.
