EMA announces the appointment of Dr Hilmar Hamann as Head of the Information Management Division

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 16-Jan-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Medicines Agency (EMA) appoints Dr Hilmar Hamann as Head of the Information Management Division.

Prior to joining EMA, Dr. Hamann has served as the Director for the Office of Business Informatics at the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Since 2011, he has led the IT strategy and programme management for information technology and business services’ investments in support of the FDA human medicines review program. Dr. Hamann also held several leadership positions in the pharmaceutical and consumer care industry before his tenure in FDA.

Dr. Hamman, a German chemist worked in the field of molecular physics and chemical kinetics at the University of Göttingen (Germany) where he received his PhD from. Dr Hamann’s professional focus lately has been leveraging cloud-enabled technologies and robotic process automation to streamline interactions between regulatory agencies and the pharmaceutical industry.
