e& UAE Partners with Ericsson to Deploy Cloud-Native 5G Core Infrastructure for Advanced Digital Services

(IN BRIEF) Ericsson and e& UAE have entered a multi-year partnership to modernize e& UAE’s 5G Core Network with Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G Core solution. The upgrade, announced at GITEX GLOBAL 2025, introduces advanced cloud-native applications running on both Ericsson and e&’s infrastructure to deliver ultra-reliable, low-latency, and secure connectivity. This modernization will enable innovative services such as immersive gaming and mission-critical IoT while supporting the UAE’s broader digital transformation agenda. Building on a long-standing relationship, the collaboration reaffirms both companies’ commitment to shaping the UAE’s telecommunications future through technological excellence and sustainable innovation.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 13-Oct-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), has announced a multi-year strategic agreement with e& UAE, a subsidiary of global technology group e&, to modernize its 5G Core Network using Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G Core solution. The collaboration, unveiled at GITEX GLOBAL 2025, represents a major step forward in enabling advanced connectivity, ultra-reliable performance, and next-generation digital services for consumers and enterprises across the United Arab Emirates.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will deploy key cloud-native applications on e& UAE’s core network, including Unified Data Management (UDM), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), User Data Consolidation (UDC), and Ericsson Secure Entitlement Server (SES). These will run on a combination of Ericsson Cloud Native Infrastructure Solution and e&’s own cloud environment, allowing seamless integration, enhanced automation, and continuous software optimization.

The network modernization will significantly enhance speed, security, and scalability, laying the foundation for new digital experiences such as immersive gaming, mission-critical IoT applications, and ultra-low-latency services. The new infrastructure will allow e& UAE to deliver differentiated and personalized connectivity offerings with consistent service quality and minimal latency.

Khaled Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Core Networks and Platforms at e& UAE, said:
“Upgrading our 5G core with Ericsson is about making everyday connectivity simpler, faster and more dependable for everyone in the UAE. It allows us to launch new services sooner, reduce latency and improve call quality, while supporting businesses across sectors with the secure, reliable networks they need.”

Petra Schirren, President of Ericsson Gulf at Ericsson Europe, Middle East and Africa, added:
“Our partnership with e& UAE underscores our shared commitment to driving digital transformation and advancing the UAE’s technology ecosystem. This modernization will enable secure, high-performance 5G connectivity, unlocking new industry applications and reinforcing our joint vision for innovation and sustainable growth.”

The partnership builds on a long-standing collaboration between Ericsson and e& UAE that has played a pivotal role in advancing the UAE’s telecommunications infrastructure. Together, the two companies have pioneered the deployment of advanced 4G and 5G networks, expanded core network capabilities, and supported developers in leveraging 5G functionalities to create innovative digital services. This latest agreement follows the 5G UDM contract signed in 2020, marking a new chapter in their efforts to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation.
