(IN BRIEF) Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has reached a major milestone with the delivery of the 200,000th BharatBenz truck. Since its launch in 2012, the BharatBenz brand has grown significantly, offering a range of trucks and buses tailored to India’s diverse commercial needs. The Oragadam plant, where these vehicles are manufactured, is part of Daimler’s global production network, serving over 70 markets worldwide. DICV is now integrated into the Mercedes-Benz Trucks segment, under the leadership of Achim Puchert.

(PRESS RELEASE) LEINFELDEN-ECHTERDINGEN/ ORAGADAM, 26-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has proudly announced the delivery of its 200,000th BharatBenz truck, marking a significant achievement in the company’s history. Since its inception in 2012, BharatBenz has catered specifically to the diverse needs of the Indian commercial vehicle market. The brand offers an extensive range of trucks, from 10 to 55 tons, designed for various applications, including local distribution, long-haul transport, mining, and buses. Today, BharatBenz vehicles are available through a nationwide network of over 375 customer service points.

DICV operates out of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, where it also houses the company’s headquarters and R&D operations. The sprawling 400-acre site is home to a sophisticated test track and is part of Daimler Truck’s global production network. At this facility, vehicles from four brands—BharatBenz, Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, and FUSO—are assembled for more than 70 markets, including regions in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

As of the start of this year, DICV has been integrated into the Mercedes-Benz Trucks segment, led by Achim Puchert, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, within the larger Daimler Truck Group.
