(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 3-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ has successfully completed the start-up of a PrimePress X shoe press at Paper Corea Inc.’s Gunsan mill in South Korea, marking a major milestone in the country’s paper production sector. The installation features the highest line load ever applied in South Korea, enabling stronger and more durable paper while improving production efficiency through optimized dewatering and increased machine speeds.

The technology group’s delivery included a high-efficiency PrimePress X shoe press, an integrated VIB SteamTech steam box, and press section fabrics—components designed to enhance dryness levels, stabilize operation, and support long-term reliability.

Early operating results at Paper Corea show substantial performance gains: dryness improved by more than 5%, significantly cutting steam consumption and contributing to energy savings of up to 20%. The system also achieved over a 30% improvement in the 2-sigma CD moisture profile, ensuring consistent sheet quality.
