(IN BRIEF) The European Investment Fund (EIF) has invested €20 million in TIN Capital’s European Cyber Tech Fund V, supported by Invest-NL and other institutional and private investors, bringing the fund’s total to more than €80 million. The investment, part of the European Commission’s InvestEU programme, aims to scale European cybersecurity companies that enhance the continent’s digital security, resilience, and autonomy. By supporting companies developing advanced security and privacy solutions, the initiative strengthens Europe’s capacity to defend its digital infrastructure and safeguard data in an increasingly complex geopolitical and regulatory landscape.

(PRESS RELEASE) LUXEMBOURG, 6-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Investment Fund (EIF) has announced a €20 million investment in TIN Capital’s European Cyber Tech Fund V, bolstering the fund’s mission to scale European cybersecurity innovators and fortify digital resilience across the continent. Supported under the European Commission’s InvestEU programme, this investment brings the fund’s total closing to over €80 million, ensuring robust capacity to invest in fast-growing cybersecurity companies shaping Europe’s digital future.

Invest-NL, which previously participated in TIN Capital’s initiatives, increased its commitment alongside other institutional investors, regional funds, family offices, and notable private investors from Europe’s cybersecurity industry. Together, they are aligning efforts to strengthen Europe’s cybersecurity sector in light of emerging geopolitical risks and upcoming EU regulations such as NIS2, the Cybersecurity Act (CSA), and DORA, which collectively aim to enhance digital protection and compliance across member states.

“Cybersecurity is no longer a luxury; it is an absolute necessity for Europe’s economic and societal stability,” said Michael Lucassen, Managing Partner at TIN Capital. “Together with the EIF and our other investors, we are building European champions capable of competing with the world’s leading players.”

Since its first closing, TIN Capital’s European Cyber Tech Fund V has made key strategic investments in firms developing technologies that protect critical infrastructure, improve cybersecurity efficiency, and strengthen data privacy. The fund has supported companies using advanced data analytics to bolster NATO countries’ economic and national security, while others focus on securing software supply chains, cloud environments, and privacy-tech solutions enabling safer data usage and storage.

“Through the EIF’s investment in TIN Capital’s Cybersecurity Fund, we help strengthen Europe’s resilience and ability to protect critical digital infrastructure and systems,” said Robert de Groot, Vice-President of the EIB Group. Cecilia Thorfinn, Acting Head of Representation of the European Commission in the Netherlands, added: “Supporting TIN Capital’s Cybersecurity Fund via InvestEU is another step in ensuring Europe remains an attractive and secure digital hub for innovation and business.”

The new investment underscores a shared vision among TIN Capital, EIF, and Invest-NL: to foster a safer, digitally autonomous Europe built on innovation, trust, and resilience in the era of AI-driven cybersecurity challenges.
