(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 2-Oct-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — MAPFRE AM, the asset management arm of the MAPFRE Group, has announced the appointment of Ismael García Puente as Deputy Director of Investment Strategy, a newly created role designed to strengthen the firm’s investment capabilities. García Puente, who has been with MAPFRE since 2011 and most recently served as Head of Investments at MAPFRE Inversión, will now take on broader responsibilities, including developing and communicating investment strategy, overseeing specialist fund management, leading market analysis, and guiding asset allocation.

In addition to his new strategic functions, García Puente will continue to manage the wealth manager networks and life insurance portfolios, ensuring consistency in customer service and portfolio performance. He will report directly to F. Javier Lendines, General Manager of MAPFRE AM.

García Puente holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Carlos III University, along with a Master’s in Financial Markets and Investments from the BME Institute. He also holds professional certifications including CAIA, CESGA, and MFIA, which highlight his expertise in investment strategy and sustainable finance.

MAPFRE AM continues to consolidate its position as a leader in the asset management sector. At the close of the first half of the year, it managed €39.67 billion in assets, confirming its status as Spain’s largest non-bank asset manager. Its parent company, MAPFRE Inversión, reported profits of €25.95 million for the period, a 19.4% year-on-year increase and the highest on record for that timeframe.
