Bayer and M2i Expand Exclusive Pheromone Gel Distribution to Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the US

(IN BRIEF) Bayer and M2i Group have extended their distribution partnership to cover Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the United States, following a successful 2023 agreement in Europe and Africa. This exclusive deal will enable Bayer to market M2i’s pheromone gel products—dispensed via reusable, pressurized applicators—throughout new regions. Key highlights include joint product development, integration into Bayer’s digital crop-protection ecosystem, and the global rollout of the VYNYTY Press series. Ralf Glaubitz of Bayer and M2i CEO Phillippe Guerret emphasized the importance of residue-free, sustainable pest-control tools for modern agriculture.

(PRESS RELEASE) MONHEIM AM RHEIN, 15-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Bayer has signed a development and distribution agreement with French pheromone specialist M2i Group to become the exclusive distributor of M2i’s pheromone gels across the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America, and the United States. This new deal, announced on July 14, 2025, builds on their successful 2023 collaboration in Europe and select African markets, where Bayer already markets M2i’s products targeting moths and sap-sucking pests in crops such as stone fruits, pome fruits, tomatoes, and grapes.

Under this expanded partnership, Bayer and M2i will:

  • Launch joint development projects to adapt pheromone gels for growers in new territories.
  • Leverage Bayer’s distribution network to bring M2i’s eco-friendly solutions to farmers in APAC, LATAM, and North America.
  • Integrate these biological tools into Bayer’s broader, digitally enabled crop-protection platform, which includes pest-monitoring technologies and complementary synthetic and biological products.

“Biological solutions with minimal residues are a cornerstone of Bayer’s sustainable crop-protection portfolio,” said Ralf Glaubitz, Head of the Crop Protection Product Team for Fungicides, Biologics, and Fruits & Vegetables at Bayer Crop Science. “This agreement strengthens our ability to broaden the options available to farmers worldwide.”

M2i’s proprietary Press technology formulates pheromones into a thick, long-lasting gel dispensed directly onto plants via a reusable, pressurized applicator—eliminating single-use plastics and reducing waste. “Our VYNYTY Press series has already gained traction in Europe and Africa over the past three years,” noted M2i CEO Phillippe Guerret. “Now, we’re thrilled to see this innovative, green approach to pest control reach growers from Chilean vineyards to North American farms.”

Since 2023, Bayer has incorporated M2i’s VYNYTY products—including VYNYTY Tuta Press for tomato pests and a Lobesia-targeted formulation for grapes—into its crop-management suite. Trials in Morocco, Turkey, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Chile have demonstrated the effectiveness of these gels under diverse local conditions.
