(PRESS RELEASE) LUDWIGSHAFEN, 20-Aug-2024— /EuropaWire/ — BASF is set to host its first-ever Care 360° Sustainability Days, a virtual event designed to engage and collaborate with industry leaders on sustainable practices within the Personal Care, Home Care, I&I, and Industrial Formulators sectors. Scheduled to run from September 17-19, 2024, the event aims to address pressing sustainability challenges and explore opportunities for innovation across these industries.

Under the banner of #2050isnow, BASF’s Care Chemicals Division is intensifying its efforts to foster a cross-industry approach to achieving net-zero emissions by mid-century. Building on the success of previous Sustainable Beauty Days, this new event format will expand the conversation to include all of Care Chemicals’ customer base in Europe. The initiative underscores BASF’s commitment to driving environmentally responsible practices and setting the stage for a sustainable future.

Dr. Matthias Maase, Director Global Sustainability at BASF’s Care Chemicals Division, emphasized the urgency of the initiative: “The time for action is now. We must collaborate closely with our customers to navigate the path to net-zero. The Care 360° Sustainability Days offer an important platform for sharing insights, addressing challenges, and developing the solutions necessary to achieve our collective sustainability goals.”

Participants in the event will have the opportunity to engage in industry-specific sessions focused on reducing CO₂ emissions, understanding the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) for various formulations, and discussing the future of sustainable practices with industry leaders. The event will be broadcast live from BASF’s Care Chemicals Customer Experience Center in Ludwigshafen, featuring a blend of BASF experts and external speakers.

The Care 360° Sustainability Days represent a significant step forward in BASF’s mission to lead the charge in sustainable industry practices. By bringing together key stakeholders in a virtual forum, BASF aims to catalyze the industry-wide transformation needed to meet the ambitious sustainability targets set for 2050.
