BASF Showcases Sustainable Footwear Innovations at Simac 2024: Lightweight Soles, Recycling Solutions, and New Processing Technologies

Under the theme “Make the Move,” BASF highlights its innovative polyurethane (PU) solutions, including meltable PU foams that enable easy recycling of shoe components, promoting a circular economy in the footwear industry. The company’s versatile materials, such as Elastopan®, Elastollan® (TPU), and Infinergy® (E-TPU), are designed to offer durability and comfort for various shoe applications.

BASF also introduces new lightweight midsole materials that offer excellent comfort and performance across different shoe types, from athletic to safety footwear. Additionally, BASF is celebrating its partnership with Politecnico Calzaturiero, showcasing cutting-edge shoe designs created by students to mark the institution’s 100th anniversary.
