Using BASF’s eco-friendly Glasurit 100 Line, Yuto Hoshino from Japan won the gold medal in the Car Painting skill, while Lara Kaufmann (Switzerland), Jason Scherer (Germany), and Ronan Le Tutour (France) took silver. The competition emphasized eco-efficient practices in car painting, underscoring BASF’s role in shaping a sustainable future for the automotive refinish industry. The next WorldSkills competition will be held in Shanghai in 2026.

With over 1,400 participants from across 70 countries, the competition saw 23 car painters showcase their expertise in both craftsmanship and sustainability over four intense days of competition.

Yuto Hoshino from Japan won the gold medal in the Car Painting skill, while silver medals were awarded to three European talents: Lara Kaufmann from Switzerland, Jason Scherer from Germany, and Ronan Le Tutour from France. Competitors were judged not only on their painting skills but also on their eco-efficient use of materials, thanks to BASF’s Glasurit 100 Line and Refinity platforms, which emphasize precision and environmental responsibility.
